When you order from Selfish Style, every piece is custom made specifically for you and your measurements. This is what sets our garments apart from mass-produced clothing — each stitch is tailored to fit your unique body perfectly.

    Why Accurate Measurements Matter

Taking precise body measurements is the foundation of a perfectly fitted garment. Unlike off-the-rack clothing that follows standardized sizing, custom-made pieces are crafted to embrace your individual proportions. This means the difference between a garment that simply fits and one that flatters your body beautifully.

    Essential Measurements You'll Need

    Bust/Chest

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Stand relaxed with arms at your sides.

    Waist

Find your natural waistline — the narrowest part of your torso, typically just above your belly button. Don't pull the tape too tight; it should rest comfortably.

    Hips

Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, usually about 20cm (8 inches) below your waist.

    Length Measurements

Depending on the garment, you may need additional measurements like inseam, arm length, or overall garment length.

    Tips for Accurate Measuring

    1. **Use a flexible measuring tape** — rigid rulers won't give accurate body measurements
    2. **Wear fitted undergarments** — or the clothes you plan to wear under the garment
    3. **Stand naturally** — don't hold your breath or suck in your stomach
    4. **Have someone help** — it's difficult to measure yourself accurately, especially for back measurements
    5. **Measure twice** — double-check each measurement to ensure accuracy

    Prefer Standard Sizes?

While we recommend providing your exact measurements for the best fit, we understand that not everyone has access to a measuring tape or assistance. If you prefer, you can select a standard size from our size chart, and we'll create your garment based on those dimensions.

Simply note in your order whether you're providing custom measurements or opting for standard sizing. Our team is always available to help if you have questions about which approach is best for your order.
